04/12/2004: "Rat or Vole ?"
What do you think? Are the pictures below of a rat or a vole?
My brother has a webcam in his garden ( http://www.gazzy.f9.co.uk ) and there has been quite some discussion as to what this animal is ....

ON the basis of the second photo I would say vole. The tail is a bit short. OTOH I have slung many a vole over the garden fence - my cats having had a go. If these little blighters have soft, blunt faces they are voles, if they have pointy faces they are not. Voles.

Or it could be a Gopplerundent, its a animal that has died out about 400 years ago thats why no1 really knows what it is and no photos of it before but... WOW I have one in my garden
