05/15/2004: "Drunk in charge of a dog!"
music: Norah Jonesmood: Grrrr but getting hmmmm
I know its possible to get 'done' for being drunk in charge of a bike, but can you be done for being drunk in charge of a dog? That is one I will leave to my brother in law to sort out ... with his associations with the Police, it should not be too hard .....
Anyway, as Dave and I were leaving to go to the Supermarket, Treacle came out with us as usual .... then all of a sudden this dog appeared and chased the cat. I stood in the entrance blocking the doorway so the dog could not enter ... and I yelled at it go away.
The owner of the dog stumbled down the lane to me, quite upset I had shouted at his dog! I informed him that had the dog actually entered my property, it would have been kicked! And then he started to ramble about him kicking the cat, etc. etc. Dave came out and tried to calm the situation. The drunk guy just kept rambling ... and then went on to explain that the pub was just up the road and dogs could be expected .... like .. heh - what?
What is the link between the dog and the pub??? Beats me ... ![]()
And so he continued to say how he loved animals (he even mentioned squirrels! - I wonder why) ..
Anyway - Dave put treacle inside and we were driving up the lane when Dave stopped the car and got out. The bloke had only told his dog to "get the cat" ..... and made threats ... no, not threats as when Dave asked if it was a threat - he (the drunk) said "I don't make threats" ....
So ... if anything happens to Dave's car we know to:
1) Go to the pub (Oddfellows) and find out who this guy is .... he is obviously regular there!
This weblog will provide a memory jogger if necessary and obviously notes the date of today's events.
What is surprising is that somebody was THAT drunk at 5:30pm ... in a pub many adults use whilst their kids are put on the nearby play park out of their way .....
