Well ... it was short and sweet ... I hope the new ones will be same - well short anyway.

I am now pleased that no gate was fitted .... dogs and cats do not mix that easily and at least ours now has a chance of running in ...... I just hope she realises that a dog has replaced poor Mr Potter and does not go running upstairs to see him as the door is often left open .....

Phew ... sigh of relief! The dog visits only and is often tied up outside ....... at least the many feline visitors won't be caught easily ....

Watching TV / Council Workers

A manhole in St Petersburg

It was like there was a camcorder just filming a manhole in the road and after a year or so (I'm not sure how long) ... they took out the bits of film where something happened around this manhole .... it was so totally watchable too ...how sad

One of the first things to be shown was a repair to the road - a hole was filled in using slate - men stood on it to stamp it down (honest!) .... then of course it was repaired by tarmac ... but the hole was made bigger. They obviously did not use enough tarmac .. the repaired bit being at least an inch lower (you could see they had trouble with the rollers when flattening it out) .... unsurprisingly, the road had to be repaired several times .... the actual hole getting bigger and bigger with each repair

Amazing stuff ..... it had to be seen to be believed - I could imagine that is how some of the roads here in Lowestoft have become that bad

Am I the only person to watch stuff like this??
